Massage Therapy Techniques

Massage therapy is the treatment and practice of soft tissue manipulation with physical, functional, and in some cases psychological purposes and goals.  The word comes from the French word "massage" which means "friction of kneading," and/or from Arabic term "massa," which means "to touch, to feel, or to handle" or from Latin word "massa," which translates into "mass".  The Latin word for massage is ''frictio,'' compared with the Greek term "anatripsis".  It is possible that the Hebrew word "me-sakj," which means "to anoint, presumably with oil", may have been an even older usage of the term.

In this video, a licensed massage therapist demonstrates various massage therapy techniques in this 2 minute, 18 second training video.  While there is only so much that can be taught about anything in 2 minutes and 18 seconds, this video nonetheless is another effective learning tool for beginners looking for an introduction into basic massage therapy techniques.

Overall, this short massage video is well worth the two minutes it takes to watch it for any natural medicine enthusiast, or anyone who just flat-out loves massages.
